What Does the Science Say About Essiac?

A peer-reviewed scientific journal article published on the CDC website in 2006 summarised that:

And this wonderful result was achieved without the most potent ingredient, sheep sorrel root, instead of the whole plant, as recommended by Rene Caisse, only the aerial parts of the plant were used. (stalks and leaves).  Our Essiac Herbal Tea 4-herb blend contains sheep sorrel whole plant, including the root.
